Microfiction Monday #50 & #4

Microfiction Monday reaches its half century, here's the photo:

And here's my response:

Five.
She saw the tanker.

Four.
The last of the oil sailed by.

Three.
She would make them listen.

Two.
She checked her watch.

One.
Boom.

And all the way back to number four, here's the picture:

And here's my response:

The Three Bears were forced into a witness relocation programme following the Goldilocks Incident.

The fairy bodyguards terrified even them.

That first one was excellent. I didn't see the end coming even with the countdown The second one cracked me up. I always suspected that Goldilocks was running a major crime syndicate.

Wicked, dark, and fun! Just the sort of twisted story I like. Thank you!

Have great week x

Very good, I loved the original take on the first picture and the second was 'just right' :-) I enjoyed them both.

The countdown effect in the first micro is a dramatic way to create a climax in micro! Very clever! And the second micro is a brilliant, lightly satiric play with the 3 Bears incident! Enjoyed both!

Yikes! She's not as benign a character as she seems. Love the countdown. Very creative!

Both are excellent! Although, the whole oil thing on the water . . . I hope she's not trying to get them to listen to her for environmental reasons!

Your picture #1 story got me all serious, at which point I found myself saying to me (and you), "Clever, Dave! You've managed to pull the straps on our Thinking Caps that much tighter!" You also had me wondering "Could this be Jack Bauer's "quiet," old aunt gone enviromentally off her nut?" And, yet, I stay in a serious gear. Then I go to Door #2 (<--channeling Monty Hall?) for a second read, where you'll find me STILL HOWLING WITH LAUGHTER! You are my hero, Mr. Dave! Bravo!

I like the effect of the countdown...very dramatic, with tension building to the final moment of the explosion. Very well written.

The second one was hilarious. You are clever and funny! More than one fairy is a bit terrifying.

That makes me think of that old line from a commercial, "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature". Sounds like she had a helper to get even. :)

Have yourself a great week.

That's one way to make an impact and no room for regrets afterwards. As for the Three Bears - well, they got their come-uppance all right ;-)
